Volleyball Team Quickly Takes Care of Shoreline, 3-0.
Shoreline came out ready to battle in a NWAC North league match. They battled hard in the first set, but they fell behind 25-22. The second match and third match quickly fell to the Orcas.
Mia Farris had 20 diggs for the Orcas. Liana Pilipchuk had 15 assists. Brenna McGrew had 7 kills.
The Orcas moved to 3-4 in league, 5-14 overall with the win. Whatcom continues to battle with Skagit Valley for the 4th spot in the playoff crunch.
"We've faced some challenges this season, but our focus has been on growth and improvement every single day. The team is showing real depth and resilience, and our win over Shoreline reflects that progress.
We are continuing to build momentum and hope it carries us into postseason play," says Head Coach Cody Luthy.
The team continues to build in league games. "Even on a day were we were not at our best volleyball 100% of the time, we still showed that our standard at Whatcom volleyball remains high. A win is a win, but it is also a reminder that our potential is greater," says Sophomore
player Kyndis Myers.
With the loss, Shoreline moves to 0-7 in league, 0-15 overall.
Whatcom will go on the road on Wednesday, Oct. 22nd to take on Everett C.C. Trojans.
The Orcas will be back at home on Wed., Oct. 29th vs. Olympic College. The game will be at 6:30 p.m., so that Olympic can catch the last ferry home.
